WLA 2006 Trade Show offers gateway to Asia

The WLA2006 Trade Show hosted by Singapore Pools from 12-17 Nov 2006 at Raffles City Convention Centre opened windows of opportunity for its 40 international leading players in the gaming and technology sectors trying to gain a foothold in the growing Asian market.




Singapore Pools donates S$31.8m to NCSS

Singapore Pools with its parent company, the Singapore Totalisator Board, donated S$31.8 million (US$20m) to the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).

The donation was presented at the Opening Dinner of WLA2006 by President S R Nathan to the NCSS represented by Ms Jennie Chua (3rd from left), Chairman, Community Chest of Singapore and beneficiaries Mr Tham Kar Soon

Fountain of Wealth Greets delegates
Our delegates were greeted by the Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City as part of a Fengshui tour conducted by Master Raymond Lo. Walking round the fountain, they touched the water, signifying a flow of prosperity.

Mr Graham Winter, the author of "High Performance Leadership" and "Think One Team", met his fervent supporters from the National Lotteries Board of South and West Africa.

Pollard Banknote, one of WLA Contributors, hosted a function for delegates at the WLA2006 event. The company supplies scratch and pull-tab tickets, instant ticket vending machines and bingo supplies for many of the world's most successful lotteries and numerous charitable gaming organisations.

The positive response from our Contributors is a testament to the credibility of the WLA Trade Show as a strategically positioned marketing platform for suppliers, software designers and developers to penetrate and gain a foothold in new and emerging markets. Some of the exhibitors have made significant commitments such as hosting corporate social events for the delegates, thus validating the Show's international appeal as an important business platform and forum of exchange.

Showing support for the Brazilian state-owned lottery company Loterias CAIXA was Ms Tatiana Rosito, Head of Trade and Economics, Embrassy of Brazil, Singapore (4th from left), with officials from CAIXA Economica Federal, Brazil. CAIXA was proud to showcase its homegrown products and creativity to the lottery community at WLA2006.

The Chinatown Experience

The exotic sights and sounds of Chinatown fascinated about 300 WLA2006 delegates, exhibitors and their family members during their city tour. Many were avid shoppers, taking home fond memories of the rich cultural heritage of Chinatown.

Lotteries - A Whole New Mindset?
Keynote speaker Mr Ho Kwon Ping (Chairman, Banyan Tree Holdings) stressed on international cooperation among countries to fund worthy philantropic causes globally.

Parallel sessions provided an enriching experience for delegates.


WLA Honours Outstanding Advertising
Congratulations to all the winners of the WLA Advertising Awards 2006! The winners were selected by popular vote based on a shortlist from 90 entries.

ACE clinches iVT contract

Congratulations to ACE Interactive which signed a multi-million iVT contract with the leading state-owned casino operator in Slovakia, Casinos Slovakia.

The contract was groundbreaking as it represented a first step for ACE Interactive into the dynamic Eastern European market.


Our WLA Volunteers

Displaying an enthusiastic "V" sign, these WLA2006 'front-line ambassadors'
gave their best and made a difference to the success of WLA2006. They formed part of a 50-strong volunteer team from 14 lottery companies in 15 countries.
